About the Event

The “Soles for Souls” Marathon, brought to you by the Council for Leather Exports (CLE), is set for its inaugural edition in September 2024 in Chennai. The primary focus of this initiative is to raise awareness about drug free society besides promoting the brand image of footwear and leather industry. This event is promoted by the footwear and leather industry, showcasing its strengths and Chennai's pivotal role. Attracting 5,000 runners from diverse backgrounds, participants will enjoy a professionally managed experience with timed runs across 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km categories, along with benefits such as a T-shirt, finisher medal, and breakfast etc. The marathon aims to foster industry unity and collaboration with Departments of Government of Tamil Nadu and will also expand to other cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata Delhi, Agra, and Kanpur in future.

The largest and the apex trade promotion organization for India's growing footwear, leather and leather products industry. Committed to the sector's domestic development and boosting export growth, CLE aims to increase India's share in global footwear and leather trade. Functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, CLE is the nodal Export Promotion organization for the entire footwear and leather industry.

Can I register manually (offline)?

No, all registrations must be completed online. Offline registrations are not accepted.

Is there a minimum/maximum age for participants?

10 km: Minimum age is 16 years.
5 km: Minimum age is 12 years.
3 km: Minimum age is 8 years.

Can I participate in multiple race categories?

No, participants can only register for one race category.

Are there any early bird offers or group discounts?

Yes, a 10% early bird discount is available for the first 1,000 participants.

Can I change my race category after registration?

Changes to race categories are permitted up to two weeks before the event date. If switching to a shorter distance, no refunds will be provided for the fee difference. If switching to a longer distance, the difference in registration fees must be paid.

Can I transfer or cancel my registration? Will I receive a refund?

Registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Are t-shirts available for all race categories?

Yes, t-shirts are provided for all participants.

Race kits will be distributed during the Expo.

Will timing chips be provided?

Are there cash prizes?

Yes, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in 10 Km and 5 Km.

Are there age categories for the races?

No, all prizes will be awarded based on open categories.

Will there be a baggage counter?

Yes, a baggage counter will be available.

What is the race route?

The route map will be available during the Expo.

Will there be a Medical Base Camp?

Yes, a Medical Base Camp will be available.

Will there be mobile toilets available?

Yes, mobile toilets will be available at intervals of 3.5 km.

Will there be medical stations along the route?

Yes, medical stations will be present along the route.

How many hydration stations will be available and at what distances?

An adequate number of hydration stations will be placed along the route.

Will there be signage boards or volunteers for directions?

Yes, signage boards and volunteers will be present throughout the route.

Will refreshments or breakfast be available?

Will finishers receive a certificate and medal?

Yes, all finishers will receive a medal and an e-certificate.
